Mother arrested months after her children drowned, with traces of cocaine in their blood

Laura Nicholson, 23, was visiting her grandparents with her daughters, 2 and 3, in the west Harris County city of Katy, Texas.
When the grandmother returned from the store, the children were unresponsive in the pool, and Laura was asleep on the couch.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a woman, who was “screaming hysterically that children have drowned.”
During the autopsy, it was revealed that both children had cocaine in their blood, which Laura’s mother had accused her of using to CPS.
It is unclear how the children ingested the drugs or what role Laura played in it.
