A deadly incident in Far Rockaway, Queens, is under investigation after a woman was found fatally stabbed inside an apartment and a man believed to be her boyfriend jumped from the roof of the building, according to police and local reports.

Authorities responded to a Queens apartment building on September 30 after receiving reports involving a blood-covered man on the roof. Police attempted to get the 32-year-old man to safely come down, but investigators say he jumped from the seven-story building.

The man survived the fall and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remained in critical condition.

Inside a second-floor apartment, officers discovered 31-year-old Pheona Premraji suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the man is believed to have stabbed Premraji before going to the roof and attempting to take his own life. However, authorities had not filed criminal charges against him as of Thursday morning.

Reports indicate investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and the relationship between the two individuals.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish a complete timeline of events.
