An American Airlines flight from Charlotte to Philadelphia ended in chaos after a man allegedly bit a fellow passenger. The wild incident ended in the pilot signalling for EMTs and police to enter the plane on its arrival.

According to The Sheffield Press, the incident happened on Sunday, June 21, with the flight landing at around 10:00 am local time.

An air traffic control recording captured the pilot’s confusion as the incident played out. He described how the passenger was escalating in his anger and his actions. “I don’t know… if he’s hallucinating or whatever, but he just bit a passenger, and he’s trying to fight everybody,” he explained.

The flight was just reaching Philadelphia when the passenger started to become unruly. The pilot ended up needing to ask for medical personnel as well as law enforcement, for his words, “just as a precaution.”

Details haven’t been properly released as to the state of the bitten passenger. We also aren’t sure if the unruly passenger ended up getting taken into custody.

There have been other recent passenger disturbances — it’s a pretty worrying trend, all considered.

As we reported on when it happened, another recent case showed a passenger trying to invade the cockpit before jumping straight out of the plane. A jiu-jitsu fighter ended up needing to “physically” handle it.
