Yaya Mayweather ordered to pay more than $50 million over 2020 stabbing

Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, has been ordered to pay more than $50 million in damages stemming from a 2020 stabbing incident involving NBA YoungBoy’s former partner.

According to reports published Monday, a Texas judge ordered Mayweather to pay $40.105 million in compensatory damages, along with another $10 million in exemplary damages, bringing the total judgment to more than $50 million.

The case dates back to April 2020, when Mayweather was involved in a confrontation with Lapattra Lashai Jacobs at rapper NBA YoungBoy’s Houston-area home. The altercation escalated, and Jacobs was stabbed and later required surgery for her injuries.

Mayweather was subsequently charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. In 2022, she pleaded guilty and received six years of deferred adjudication probation rather than prison time.

The massive civil judgment now adds another chapter to a case that began more than six years ago.
The dispute received widespread attention because of the people involved, including Mayweather, NBA YoungBoy and Jacobs, who shares a child with the rapper.

With the court reportedly awarding more than $50 million, the long-running legal saga has taken a major financial turn for Floyd Mayweather’s daughter.
