Video recorded by the driver, Jamel Shepherd of New Haven, shows a woman, identified as Amanda Byrne of Thomaston, standing in the middle of the road directly in front of his vehicle to block him from driving.
Following an investigation on scene and a review of recorded video footage, the Watertown Police Department issued misdemeanor summonses to both individuals:
Amanda Byrne was charged with Second-Degree Breach of Peace.
Jamel Shepherd was charged with Second-Degree Threatening following allegations surrounding the dispute and actions prior to the video recording.
Both drivers were issued a court date scheduled for October 14, 2026. Police publicly stated that their investigation into the full circumstances of the road rage incident remains open.
