Tyler Robinson’s attorneys say the shooter should escape the de*th penalty because he “hit the intended target.”
Robinson is accused of taking Charlie Kirk’s life with a rifle shot.
His defense team wants a judge to remove the only aggravating factor currently making him eligible for capital punishment. They argue that because the shooter fired once, struck his intended target and did not harm anyone else, prosecutors cannot prove he knowingly endangered additional lives.
The filing does not concede that Robinson was the shooter…but this argument certainly SEEMS like an admission of some kind.
It is absolutely INSANE that the shooter’s accuracy could help spare him from the ultimate sentence.
