She Ended The Relationship. Police Say He Stabbed Her 34 Times.
Around 11:50 p.m., police responded to the 3400 block of Southwest 16th Terrace in Miami, Florida, after a woman was stabbed multiple times during a domestic violence incident.
According to an arrest affidavit, the woman had been in a relationship with 40-year-old Leisnier Mauri Garcia since December 2025.
Authorities said Garcia and the woman rented an Airbnb near the beach and planned to go to dinner at a nearby restaurant on Father’s Day.
While they were on the way, the woman received a text message from the father of her child.
Investigators said Garcia saw the message, which led to an argument between the two.
During the argument, the woman told Garcia she wanted to end the relationship.
According to the affidavit, Garcia and the woman later returned to the Airbnb to collect their belongings.
Police said Garcia told the woman he needed to go back inside to get something he had forgotten.
As the woman drove toward her Miami home, Garcia allegedly insisted on sitting in the rear passenger seat instead of the front passenger seat, where he normally sat.
According to investigators, Garcia then pulled out a knife from the back seat and began stabbing the woman from behind.
Police said the woman opened the driver’s side door and escaped while pleading with Garcia to stop.
The woman suffered 34 stab wounds to her upper body, including 10 wounds to her neck.
She was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Garcia was later located in the area of Northwest Fourth Terrace and 36th Court in Little Havana.
Police said Garcia was also taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for cuts to his hands.
After being treated, Garcia was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
According to the affidavit, the woman told police the relationship had become violent on previous occasions.
She also told investigators that during a previous breakup, Garcia had attempted to assault her.
On June 25, 2026, Garcia was arrested and charged with attempted felony murder with a deadly weapon.
A judge found probable cause and ordered Garcia held without bond.
