Man Arrested After Victim Found Bound and Injured Inside Apartment, Police Say

RawNews1st – Officers arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with a violent robbery and assault that occurred at an apartment complex in Springfield, Missouri.

Authorities identified the suspect as James Greenmun, who is charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault causing serious physical injury, and first-degree kidnapping.

According to investigators, officers initially responded to the apartment complex on April 9, 2025, where they found a victim in the hallway suffering from significant injuries and asking for help.

Police said the victim had been restrained, and evidence inside the apartment indicated a violent struggle had taken place.

Investigators later obtained surveillance footage showing multiple individuals entering and leaving the apartment around the time of the incident.

The victim told police he had invited individuals to his home before the situation escalated into an assault and robbery.

Authorities say the suspects stole personal property, including electronics, medications, and cash.

The victim sustained serious injuries that required surgery.

Following the investigation, Greenmun was identified as one of the suspects and was taken into custody on April 1, 2026.

He is currently being held in the Greene County Jail without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
