Man Accused of Opening Fire Into Home, Injuring Sister and Infant

RawNews1st – At around 6 a.m., deputies responded to a shooting at a residence in West Palm Beach, Florida, where a woman and an infant were found suffering from gunshot wounds after shots were fired into the home. Both were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment.

According to investigators, the suspect, 36-year-old Marvin Davilmar, is the victim’s brother. Authorities say Davilmar allegedly fired multiple rounds from outside the residence, striking his sister in the leg and foot while she was holding her infant, who was also shot in the leg.

Deputies recovered both handgun and rifle shell casings outside the home, along with evidence showing bullets were fired through a front window into the residence. A witness inside the home told investigators they heard gunfire followed by a voice they recognized as Davilmar’s.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed a man matching Davilmar’s description fleeing the scene and entering a vehicle linked to him. Deputies later located the vehicle and arrested Davilmar at a nearby residence without incident.

Investigators say Davilmar, a convicted felon, was prohibited from possessing firearms. Authorities believe the shooting was intentional and linked to a history of conflict between the siblings.

Davilmar has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, seven counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon. He remains in custody.
