She Was Beaten And Stabbed. Her Husband Faces Two Murder Charges.

Around 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 17000 block of South Ridgerunner Drive, near South Melpomene Way in Vail, Arizona, following a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered a pregnant woman deceased in the garage, covered with a blanket and suffering from severe head injuries and a deep wound to her chest.

The victim was identified as 39-year-old Noelle Clark.

Deputies immediately detained Noelle’s husband, 49-year-old Joseph Jay Clark, as he attempted to walk out of the front door of the residence. Two young children, ages 2 and 5, were found unharmed on the stairs inside the home.

According to an interim criminal complaint, investigators believe Joseph attacked Noelle inside their children’s bedroom, repeatedly striking her with his hands and a belt before stabbing her in the chest.

Investigators believe Joseph then dragged Noelle through the residence and into the garage, where he allegedly ran her over with a vehicle.

During a search of the residence, investigators discovered a pool of blood and blood spatter inside the children’s bedroom. A bloodied knife and a belt were also recovered from the room.

Investigators documented two marks on Noelle’s back that reportedly matched the recovered belt.

Construction nails were also discovered embedded in the doorframes of at least two rooms inside the residence.

Bloodied drag marks extended from the children’s bedroom to the garage, where Noelle’s body was discovered beneath the blanket.

Investigators also documented bloody tire marks inside the garage and corresponding tire marks on Noelle’s arms, indicating she had been run over by a vehicle.

According to the criminal complaint, investigators believed Joseph had made plans to dispose of his wife’s remains.

During his arrest, Joseph reportedly claimed that Noelle had been electronically torturing him for years.

He told deputies he had been “tortured, shocked over a couple of years” and claimed that all his teeth had “popped out from being zapped.”

“I was shocked, that’s what caused [this],” Joseph reportedly told deputies.

However, investigators found no visible or obvious injuries on Joseph’s body supporting his claims of prolonged torture.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department initially reported that Noelle had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. However, the subsequent criminal complaint described severe head trauma, a deep chest wound consistent with stabbing, and injuries associated with being run over by a vehicle.

Authorities have not publicly clarified the discrepancy between the initial report and the injuries documented in the criminal complaint.

Investigators confirmed Noelle was pregnant at the time of her death. Her unborn child also died.

The couple’s two children were subsequently placed in the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

Joseph was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Noelle and their unborn child.

On October 10, 2026, Joseph appeared in Pima County court, where his bond was set at $1 million.

Joseph is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 20, 2026, in Pima County Justice Court.

The investigation remains ongoing.
