She Said Her 3-Year-Old Was Kidnapped. Her Body Was Found Wrapped In Plastic.

Authorities found the body of a 3-year-old girl wrapped in Saran Wrap and placed in a suitcase. Her remains were found in a trash can on a vacant lot along the unit block of Dune Drive in North East, Maryland.

The victim was identified as 3-year-old Nola Dinkins.

According to investigators, Nola’s mother, 32-year-old Darrian Randle, falsely reported on June 10, 2025, that Nola had been kidnapped at gunpoint in New Castle County, Delaware.

The fake kidnapping report led Maryland State Police to Nola’s last known residence, a home where Randle’s boyfriend, Cedrick Britten, was staying.

During an interview with detectives, Randle admitted she hit Nola with a belt nearly 20 times until the child was unconscious.

According to court documents, Randle called Britten to perform CPR, but Nola was already dead.

Investigators said Randle placed Nola’s body into a suitcase and asked Britten to take it.

Authorities said Britten later gave detectives a map showing where he left Nola’s body.

Police found Nola’s remains in a trash can near a home close to the woods.

During Randle’s trial, prosecutors played clips of her June 10, 2025, confession.

Randle admitted she used a brown belt that was kept on the banister to beat Nola several times, including the day she died.

She also admitted that after Nola died, she and Britten wrapped the little girl in Saran Wrap that had been kept in the basement before putting her body in a suitcase and dumping it in a trash can.

Investigators testified they found the brown belt on the banister and the plastic wrap in the basement, matching what Randle told detectives.

Nola’s father, Dominique Dinkins, testified that after he and Randle broke up, he did not see Nola from October 2024 to January 2025.

When he finally saw his daughter again, he noticed scars on her body.

Before Nola’s death, Dominique reached out to Randle several times to see his daughter, but evidence showed she rarely responded.

A digital expert testified that searches made from Randle’s phone included how to remove blood stains, boarding school for preschoolers, and how to get away with murder.

A child abuse expert testified that Nola had suffered child torture, which involved physical maltreatment, emotional maltreatment, and neglect.

According to court documents, Nola lost more than seven pounds in one month and weighed 19 pounds when she died.

Randle was charged with murder, child abuse, neglect, and assault.

Britten was charged with allegedly helping hide Nola’s body. His trial is scheduled for August 2026.

Randle also faces felony charges in Delaware for filing a false police report.

On June 8, 2026, after a six-day trial in Cecil County, Randle was convicted of murder, child abuse, neglect, and assault.

The verdict was announced in less than two hours.

Randle is scheduled to be sentenced in October 2026 and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole.
