Bodycam shows man fatally shot by deputies serving child porn warrant.
Christopher Barata, who was seen running or walking with a handgun inside the home, was shot and killed by deputies.
Deputies arrived at a home in the Palmetto Estates area (Southwest 102nd Place and Fairway Drive) around 5:30 AM to serve a search warrant tied to a child pornography investigation.
The target of the investigation was Christopher’s 25-year-old brother, Cristian Barata. Cristian confessed post-arrest and was charged with multiple counts of possessing and promoting sexual performance by a child based on National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) cyber tips.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) took over the independent investigation into the police-involved shooting.
