Active Shooter at Central High people, School is on lockdown

RawNews1st – Police and San Angelo Independent School District officials responded to a threat involving Central High School Friday morning, according to a news bulletin from SAISD.

According to the statement, officials were made aware of an alleged threat, and immediately responded in conjunction with the San Angelo Police Department, placing the campus on lockdown.

The lockdown has since been lifted, and students have resumed their normal early release schedule, according to officials.

“We appreciate the collaborative effort between the school and law enforcement.

SAISD encourages everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, or local law enforcement. Student reports will be kept confidential.”

“We take all matters of this nature seriously and will follow procedures outlined in our Student Code of Conduct. The safety of our students is our first priority.

We encourage everyone to report threats of any kind to a district or school official, local law enforcement, or report the concern on our district StayAlert link on the SAISD website,” the bulletin stated.
