A man was robbed in Chicago before he was later found bound and gagged on the porch of a home Friday on Loomis Avenue in Harvey, police said.
Following the discovery, officers requested medical assistance, and the victim, a man believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s who was also a dialysis patient, was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Police identified the suspect as 43-year-old Bradley Ratkovich.
Upon further investigation, officers were able to determine that the victim had been robbed somewhere in Chicago before he was bound and gagged and taken to Harvey.
“This was a deeply disturbing incident. Our officers responded immediately, secured the scene and ensured the victim received medical attention. Our investigation has determined that the underlying incident occurred in Chicago, and we will be coordinating with the Chicago Police Department as the investigation moves forward,” Harvey Police Chief Dale Mitchell said.
An investigation is ongoing.
