A former East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy is being held without bond after reportedly being indicted on a dozen child sex crime charges.

According to the attorney general’s office, the grand jury only deliberated for around three minutes before returning a true bill on all 12 counts.

La. Attorney General Liz Murrill announced on Monday, June 15, that Nicholas LoCicero was indicted in Livingston Parish on five counts of first-degree rape of a child under 13, one count of sexual battery of a child under 13, three counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and three counts of molestation of a juvenile.

LoCicero was previously arrested in October 2024 by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office on two counts of first-degree rape and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.

The arrest followed an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving two kids, according to the attorney general’s office.

“Crimes against children are among the most serious offenses my office prosecutes. Anyone accused of preying on a child in Louisiana will be pursued aggressively by my office and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No one is above the law, especially those sworn to uphold it,” said Attorney General Liz Murrill.

LoCicero is a former employee of both the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO).

He started his career with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office before leaving to work at the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

He was then rehired by EBRSO. Deputies said he was placed on administrative leave after they were made aware of the allegations, and he was terminated the evening before his 2024 arrest.
