A St. Louis Circuit Court judge has signed an arrest warrant for a man accused of attempting to rape a gas station employee and threatening to kill her during an attack in the Central West End.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the attack happened on Dec. 27, 2025, at a BP gas station located in the 4400 block of Laclede Avenue.
Police said the employee had closed the store for the evening and was walking to her car when Lamont T. Wilson, 33, approached her from behind. Wilson grabbed the woman and pulled her to the rear of her vehicle, where he physically restrained her for several minutes.
The victim pleaded with the man not to hurt her and offered to reopen the store so he could take money or merchandise, police said. Instead, the man allegedly responded, “I want sex” and attempted to pull down her pants.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim resisted and began screaming for help. Wilson punched her in the face several times and threatened to kill her before letting her go and fleeing the area.
Investigators said the incident was captured on surveillance video. The victim later told police she recognized the suspect as a regular customer at the gas station.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Wilson with first-degree attempted rape, first-degree kidnapping, third-degree assault and first-degree harassment. Once in custody, Wilson will be held without bond.
