A woman was hit by a car outside the Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark on Father’s Day
A woman was hit by a car outside Delaney Hall ICE detention center in Newark on Father’s Day, video shows.
The video, provided by the organizer group Indivisible Somerset County, shows a woman waving an American flag with fellow protesters scattered behind her near a private vehicle entrance of Delaney Hall.
The woman is seen dancing and making an obscene gesture to someone off-camera before a red Dodge Challenger hits her from behind, sending her to the ground.
The group said the woman is an advocate from Minnesota and “is not yet believed to have sought medical care.”
ICE and the Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to PIX11 News’ request for comment on the situation.
This incident came just days after New Jersey lawmakers said their “worst fears were confirmed” regarding conditions at Delaney Hall.
