His Dismembered Remains Were Found In A Reservoir. 2 People Are Charged.
Investigators discovered dismembered human remains in the Dog River Reservoir near Douglasville, Georgia.
The victim was later identified as 37-year-old Jamal Rashad Parker.
According to authorities, Jamal’s identity was confirmed through DNA comparison after his father contacted investigators and said the tattoos on the remains matched his son.
Investigators believe Jamal was killed inside a home in Douglasville.
Authorities said the home was connected to 42-year-old Brittany Amber Baker.
In late May 2026, investigators were seen removing a reciprocating saw and cleaning supplies from the residence.
On June 15, 2026, 46-year-old Mario Andre Barber and Baker were arrested in connection with Jamal’s death.
Both were charged with murder.
Police have not publicly said whether Jamal knew Barber and Baker.
However, a fundraiser created by a family member described the suspects as people Jamal knew and trusted.
On June 16, 2026, Barber and Baker pleaded not guilty in court.
Both remain held without bond.
The charges are accusations, and Barber and Baker are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
