US & Canada Announce Arctic Military Exercises
Ottawa and Washington have revealed plans for military drills over the Arctic to test air defense capabilities responding to aircraft and missile threats, with Canada not ruling out concerns of a Russian invasion via the region.
Retired Canadian colonel Pierre Leblanc has criticized successive governments’ failures to modernize systems or pay attention to military bases or deep water ports.
Short-range radar technology is now allegedly obsolete, with parts needed to repair systems no longer manufactured.
