Teacher Arrested After Alleged School Stabbing Turns Out to Be Hoax
A shocking scene unfolded this morning at Splendora High School after a teacher triggered a panic alarm reporting a stabbing, sending the campus into immediate lockdown.
Around 8:45 AM, school resource officers already on campus acted within seconds, securing the school as law enforcement agencies from across the area rushed in. Nearly 100 officers responded to ensure the safety of students and staff.
As investigators began working the case, the situation quickly took an unexpected turn.
Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office say surveillance video, witness interviews, and collected evidence confirmed that no student attack ever occurred. Instead, the teacher’s injury was determined to be self inflicted, and the incident has been classified as a hoax.
Authorities identified the teacher as 53 year old Nicole Truelove, who had been employed with the district for about a year. She has been arrested and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of felony tampering with evidence and making a false report.
Officials say this was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
