SWAT situation underway at home in Gwinnett County

Georgia: SWAT situation underway at home in Gwinnett County.

This started when Brookhaven PD tried to serve a warrant overnight. Suspect fired shots, officers returned fire.

Cpl. Ryan Winderweedle with the Gwinnett County Police Department said Brookhaven officers were trying to serve the warrant as part of an ongoing investigation.

The details surrounding the warrant were not released.

Residents inside the suspect’s home were evacuated, police said. Currently, no one has been injured. Georgia State Patrol, SWAT medics and fire rescue are also on scene.
