Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Double Shooting on Radio Road
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man and woman found in the 9100 block of Radio Road on Feb. 28.
The suspect, Khiyea Kawaun Sanders, 31, has been charged with tampering with physical evidence in the 185th State District Court. A booking photo of Sanders is attached to this release.
The victims were identified as Darrell Hall, 24, and India Thomas, 27.
According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Detectives M. Castillo and M. Cater, patrol officers responded to a “meet the firefighter” call at the above address and discovered Hall suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the roadway. Thomas, who had also suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was found in a nearby ditch.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both victims dead at the scene.
Investigators later identified Sanders as a suspect in the case. On May 5, officers with the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team arrested him, and charges were subsequently filed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
