She Hit Him With A Hammer. A Week Earlier, She Stabbed Him.

Around 1:22 a.m., officers responded to an apartment on Mechanic Street in Webster, Massachusetts, after an anonymous caller reported that a woman was hitting her boyfriend with a hammer. Upon arrival, officers heard a disturbance inside the apartment and made contact with a man and woman.

The victim was not publicly identified.

The suspect was identified as 30-year-old Rachel Moore-McNeil.

According to police, Moore-McNeil told officers that no fight had taken place. However, after speaking with the victim, officers determined that an altercation had occurred.

Police said Moore-McNeil allegedly struck the victim in the head and back several times with a hammer.

Officers observed several lacerations and other injuries consistent with what the victim reported.

During the investigation, officers also learned that Moore-McNeil allegedly stabbed the victim one week earlier, causing severe lacerations.

As officers attempted to place Moore-McNeil in handcuffs, police said she began resisting arrest. Officers took her to the ground and secured her in handcuffs after a brief struggle.

The victim was treated by EMS.

Moore-McNeil was charged with assault and battery on a family or household member, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to maim, and resisting arrest.

Moore-McNeil was arraigned in Dudley District Court later that day.
