She Locked Herself And Her 3 Kids Inside A Running Car Inside A Garage. Now She’s Charged With Attempted Murder.
On May 22, 2026, deputies responded to a residence in Springville, Alabama after receiving reports involving a woman and three children inside a vehicle running in a garage. Upon arrival, authorities took 42-year-old Alicia Cheramie Cade into custody.
Authorities said Cade had locked herself and her three minor children inside the running vehicle. During the arrest, investigators said Cade struck an officer in the jaw.
Alicia Cheramie Cade, 42, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, resisting arrest, residence arson, and second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
According to authorities, Cade also has prior charges on her record, including menacing and public lewdness, and previously failed to appear in court on those cases.
She was booked into the St. Clair County Jail on May 22, 2026, where she is being held on a $202,000 bond.
