Christopher McLean, 37, is a well known chef in North Carolina, cooking up nice fancy dishes for high net worth clientele. But Chef Christopher had a dark secret of robbing banks, perhaps that is how he funded his food product for clients.
Christopher was sentenced to prison on September 16, 2026 in Charlotte, NC after robbing two banks in Charlotte. Now Chef Christopher can whip up some prison meals for the big boys in the state penitentiary, like some delightful prison spreads from the commissary.
Chef Christopher robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 2822 South Boulevard in Charlotte, NC back in March 2025. He came in the bank with a mask and pretended to open a business account, he then passed the teller a note demanding $30,000 cash. The teller gave the money to the chef and he ran.
The chef got away with the crime for 30 days or so. In April 2025 the chef came into another bank in Charlotte and showed a gun demanding $40,000 cash. Chef Christopher told the bank lady not to push the silent alarm.
The employee pushed the silent alarm anyway and Chef Christopher ran without the cash. This time the FBI identified Christopher as a suspect and arrested him in April 2025.
In 2026 Christopher pled guilty to robbery and was ordered to serve 78 months in prison.
Chef Christopher was highly booked in Charlotte for culinary genius meals that looked amazing. He cooked steak, lobster, shrimp, crab and many other aesthetically pleasing meals.
Rich clients even invited Chef Christopher on their luxury yachts for celebrations and events. Sadly now Chef Christopher will be giving the chef’s kiss from prison.
