The incident began at the Pleasant Hill Target store at 560 Contra Costa Blvd. when police were alerted about three women involved in a pushout theft.Â
“K9 Officer Kuhn ran down one of the subjects and one of the others was found in the In N Out bathroom,” the Pleasant Hill Police Department wrote on Facebook. “Both subjects were booked into county jail on grand theft charges.” Â
Retail theft and burglaries have been rising issues, both at the local and national levels. According to KTVU, Target estimates that it will lose about $600 million by the end of the fiscal year due to shoplifting.
