The Oshkosh Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 300 block of Oxford Ave.
Officers responded to a report of a person who had been shot. The individual was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
Responding officers located the suspected shooter near the area of the shooting and he was taken into custody.
He is a 37 year old male from Oshkosh.
He has been placed in the Winnebago County Jail for charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide.
The incident remains under investigation. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
The name of the defendant will not be released until he is formally charged by the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office.
