OnlyFans star Abbie Newman is crediting a police mugshot with sending her subscribers soaring and making her rich.
The 28-year-old Alabama native was recently arrested for shoplifting and disorderly conduct. But when her sultry mug was posted on Instagram account Mugshawtys, her fan base exploded.
Mugshawtys shares mugshots of sexy crooks to its 748,000 followers.
“I didn’t even know until I got out of jail and saw that all of my social media had gained followers and I was being tagged everywhere with my mugshot up,” Newman told the Daily Mail.
The feisty femme fatale was busted last April for fighting in public and hit with a disorderly conduct charge. U.S. Thanksgiving saw her back in the slammer for shoplifting.
Because of her newfound fame, the single mom was able sell sexxx-rated snapshots and videos of herself, bringing in a whopping $24,000 the first week.
“Really it turned out for the best, I suppose,” she told the tabloid. “I was really depressed right before the arrest and didn’t even log on (to OnlyFans) for a good while.
“Then I made $24,000 in a week after getting out of jail, just from customers adding my Snapchat, Twitter and OnlyFans.”
“I’m a recovering heroin addict. I’m six years sober and after the miscarriage I was going down a dark path of depression.
I have BPD (borderline personality disorder) and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and wasn’t on my meds, so I wasn’t myself.
“I was going through a lot at the time. I just had a miscarriage and was not myself — I was a whole mess,” she told the Daily Mail. “Honestly, going to jail didn’t just help me financially, it also saved my life in a way.”
The boffo bucks and newfound fame may have saved her life, she said.
She paid off her debts, lives more comfortably and can be her authentic self, she added.
