A Metra UP-NW train struck and killed a pedestrian in Edison Park on Chicago’s Northwest Side on Monday morning.
According to the transit agency, Union Pacific Northwest Line Train #634 struck the pedestrian around 8 a.m., halting trains in both directions near the Edison Park station at 6730 N. Olmstead Ave.
Inbound and outbound service on the Union Pacific Northwest line resumed around 9:20 a.m., but significant delays were expected.
