A Montgomery County man is accused of killing his own father and then calling 911 to report finding him dead, according to investigators.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that 38-year-old Justin Blount has been charged with the murder of his father, James “Mr. Jim” Blount, in the Trails End homicide investigation.
Authorities say Justin Blount was initially arrested after allegedly using his deceased father’s credit cards without authorization. As the investigation progressed, detectives uncovered additional evidence that led to a murder charge.

Investigators also say Blount was the person who called 911 and reported finding his father deceased.
The case involved the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigators, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Harris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 teams.
The investigation remains ongoing.
