Clifford Neville, 41, is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, five counts of violating bail conditions and two outstanding warrants.

The Holden Police Department says Neville left the store with several unpurchased items.

Police say he was confronted by an employee and assaulted her with a weapon.

The employee and several customers managed to subdue Neville but we’re told not before he stabbed a customer with a used needle.

The department says they are not identifying the store and although they commend the actions of those involved, they say they never recommend confronting shoplifters or others involved in a crime. Instead, call 911.
