ATF Louisville and Louisville Metro Police are confirming that a critical incident in downtown Louisville is an officer-involved shooting.

Louisville Metro Police said the incident occurred near 1st Street and Broadway on Monday around 4 p.m. The scene appears to be in an alley near a local fast-food restaurant. ATF agents and LMPD officers are on scene.

Crews could be seen covering a body on the ground, but officials have not released details on what happened at this time.

The area is also adjacent to a daycare and the campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College. JCTC temporarily received a shelter in place notice but that has since been lifted.

LMDP will hold a press conference beginning at 7:45 p.m. WAVE News will carry that conference live on air and online.
