Kevin Myers’ charges include rape, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, child pornography, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint and corruption of minors.
kevin Myers, 45, an Altoona man is facing dozens of charges for raping a teenager.
Police say the alleged victim’s father contacted them Dec. 1 and told them that he learned Myers had raped his teenage daughter and had been sexually assaulting her for the past year and a half.
The father told police that he learned of his daughter’s assault from a friend that she confided in, the complaint says.
Later, in an interview with investigators, the girl explained that Myers was a family friend that she had known for several years.
She said that, one day in early April or May of 2020, her and Myers began talking when she saw him at a garage working on his motorcycle, according to the complaint.
Myers later began texting the girl and then asked her to go for a ride with him in his semi-truck, police say.
According to police, Myers picked the girl up and then drove her to a wooded area off Interstate 99 before sexually assaulting her on a bed that was in the cab of his truck.
Police say the girl told them that this would occur once or twice a week and that Myers would threaten her to keep her quiet.
The complaint says Myers asked the girl to send him explicit pictures of herself, too.
Investigators say the girl explained that Myers would take her on out-of-state delivery trips for days at a time to states including New York, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
She told police that she was off school due to the COVID-19 shutdowns and would tell her parents that she was staying at a friend’s house, according to the complaint.
At one point, the girl explained that Myers had handcuffed her to his truck before assaulting her and threatening, the complaint says.
According to the complaint, the girl said that Myers would also assault her in a room he would frequently rent at the Cedar Grove Motel.
Myers is being held in the Blair County Prison and has a preliminary hearing slated for Dec. 22.
Police say they spoke with employees at the motel who confirmed that Myers was a regular there and recalled seeing him with a girl.
Police also say they viewed messages that Myers had sent to the girl apologizing for what he’d done.
