Houston Police officer who was shot in the line of duty overnight.

Texas: A South Houston Police officer was shot in the head with a shotgun after a chase last night.

The officer was shot around 1 a.m. on Amarillo Street. The Houston Police Department says they were called in to assist, setting up a perimeter and even clearing the freeway to get the injured officer to the hospital quickly. He remains in the ICU.

The triple shooting occurred near Franklin and Chicago avenues around midnight.

The suspect who shot him was shot and killed by police. Police are still working to ID the suspect.
