He Stabbed His Wife Over 50 Times — Now He’s Sentenced to 31 Years

A violent domestic incident unfolded in Pensacola, Florida, after 36-year-old Dominique Fountain got into an argument with his wife upon seeing a text message from an unknown number on her phone. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Fountain stabbed his wife multiple times with a large knife.

Investigators said Heather Fountain was stabbed more than 50 times across her body. Two large knives were later recovered near her as she lay in the street, including one with a broken blade. After the attack, Fountain fled the scene, leaving her critically injured.

A passerby driving to work discovered Heather lying in the roadway and stopped to help before contacting authorities. Law enforcement responded shortly after.

Fountain was later arrested and charged with attempted first-degree premeditated murder and violation of a pretrial release condition related to a domestic violence case.

On October 27, 2025, Fountain entered a plea to the violation of pretrial release condition. A jury trial began on October 30, 2025, on the attempted murder charge, where he was ultimately convicted of the lesser-included offense of attempted manslaughter with a weapon.

On January 20, 2026, a separate proceeding was held, during which a jury determined that Fountain qualified as a habitual felony offender under Florida law.

On April 8, 2026, Fountain was sentenced to 31 years in state prison.
