He Got Angry Over a Barking Dog, Then Allegedly Shot a Woman
RawNews1st – Deputies responded to a residence in the 6900 block of Klondike Road in Jefferson County, Missouri after a woman was shot during a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, investigators learned the suspect had fled the home.
Authorities identified the suspect as 65-year-old Franke Forshee.
According to prosecutors, the shooting happened after an argument between Franke Forshee and the victim inside the residence. Investigators said a dog began barking during the argument, causing Franke Forshee to become angry.
Court documents state Franke Forshee initially threatened the victim with a knife because the dog would not stop barking. Authorities said he then grabbed a firearm and shot the woman once.
Investigators said the woman was able to escape the residence after being shot. She was treated at a hospital and later released.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Franke Forshee fled the scene and hid in nearby woods following the shooting. Deputies later contacted him by cellphone and convinced him to surrender.
Franke Forshee was arrested on May 8 and charged with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He is currently being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail.
