He Came Through A Window & Attacked 3 Women. One Hit Him With A Glass Blender.

At around 1:43 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of South Hammes Avenue in Joliet, Illinois, after a woman called 911 and reported that someone had broken into her home through a window. Upon arrival, officers learned that three women inside the residence had allegedly been attacked.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Donnie Jones Jr. of Romeoville.

According to prosecutors, the three women had been sitting in the living room watching television when one of them began receiving several phone calls from Jones.

One of the women told investigators that she became frightened after hearing movement and noise near the front window.

Authorities said Jones allegedly forced the window open from outside, climbed into the living room, and immediately began striking the woman in the head with closed fists while pulling her hair.

The woman retreated to the kitchen, grabbed a glass blender, and struck Jones in the face with it.

The blender shattered, and prosecutors said Jones got back up and began attacking another woman.

That victim reportedly feared for her life and ran to hide in a downstairs bathroom.

Investigators said two of the women were Jones’ former girlfriends, while the third woman did not know him.

One victim suffered a red, swollen and bruised knot on the right side of her forehead along with lacerations to both legs.

She reported having a headache, pain, and bleeding and requested medical evaluation from paramedics at the scene.

Inside the home, officers reportedly found droplets of what appeared to be blood in the kitchen and living room along with shattered glass scattered across the floor.

Investigators also reviewed Ring doorbell footage that allegedly showed Jones arriving at the residence dressed in black before forcefully pulling the doorbell camera from its mount.

Police located Jones nearby in the 300 block of Hammes Avenue sitting inside a Jeep SUV.

Because of injuries he sustained, Jones was transported to Ascension St. Joseph’s Hospital for emergency treatment.

At the hospital, Jones agreed to speak with investigators and gave his version of what happened.

According to prosecutors, Jones said one of the women was his former girlfriend of 13 years and another was his current girlfriend.

He claimed he had an on-and-off relationship with both women and said they had called him throughout the night and allowed him to come over.

Jones also claimed the women attacked him, causing injuries to his face and head.

Authorities said Jones had visible bloody lacerations to his right ear, the top of his head, and his left eyebrow.

Jones was arrested on 10 charges, including home invasion, criminal trespass, six counts of domestic battery, and two counts of battery.

A judge ordered Jones detained in the Will County Jail under Illinois’ SAFE-T Act while the case remains pending.
