A death investigation has been launched after a body was discovered Tuesday night in the Chicago River’s North Branch.
According to Illinois State Police, the body was discovered in the river around 8:40 p.m. in Caldwell Woods near 6767 N. Milwaukee Ave. during a missing person investigation.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet released the body’s identity.
The investigation is being led by ISP.
There was no additional information available at the time.
