China may have up to 1,000 nuclear warheads by 2030 — US Department of Defense warns
A Pentagon annual report to Congress on China’s nuclear arsenal warned the country could have 700 deliverable warheads by 2027 — then 1,000 in total by 2030, the New York Times reported.
Even with the CCP’s rapid nuclear expansion, China still lags the US with 5,550 warheads and Russia with 6,255 respectively, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
