Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug has been arrested in Collin County, Texas, and is facing multiple charges, according to jail and court records.
The rapper, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested Friday, August 21, by the Allen Police Department and booked into the Collin County Jail.
According to records, Landum is facing three charges: driving while intoxicated, possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, and unlawful possession of a firearm. The DWI and marijuana charges are listed as Class B misdemeanors, while the firearm charge is a Class A misdemeanor.
Authorities have not released detailed information about what led to the arrest, and the investigation remains active. Allen police confirmed that an arrest was made but said additional details were not immediately available.
The arrest also reportedly caused BigXthaPlug to miss a scheduled appearance at the Country Rising Festival, where he had been expected to perform. The festival reportedly described his absence as a “personal emergency.”
The latest arrest comes almost exactly one year after Landum was arrested in Dallas on marijuana and firearm-related charges. He was also arrested in Arlington earlier in 2025 on a marijuana possession charge, which was later dismissed.
BigXthaPlug has become one of the more recognizable names in Southern hip-hop, breaking through with songs including “Texas” and “Mmhmm.” His music has also crossed heavily into the country-rap space, with collaborations involving major artists including Luke Combs, Jelly Roll and Shaboozey.
For now, the rapper remains at the center of a developing legal situation. Additional information about the arrest, bond and court proceedings could be released as the case moves forward.
