BBC facing growing backlash over ‘toxic’ transgender article — demands for an apology grow after Netflix protests
16,000 people have signed an open letter calling on the British broadcaster to apologize for an October article that interviewed several lesbians who felt “pressured into sex by some trans women.”
The letter said the article implies trans women aren’t women and ‘uncritically’ quoted people who call transgender women ‘men.’
A BBC spox said the article “went through our rigorous editorial processes,” and that the broadcaster “is here to ensure debate and to make sure a wide a range of voices are heard.”
