A woman is in custody, accused of receiving state benefits by fraud.
The affidavit for Sharisa Parker says she worked for DHS and signed paperwork saying she and her two children were the only ones who lived in her home, which made her eligible for childcare assistance.
It says investigators from the DHS Office of Inspector General discovered the father of one of her 2 children also lived in the home and that would’ve made her ineligible as he was listed as not having a job and not doing schooling.
It says the child care assistance overpayment was more than $24,000.
It says investigators also have surveillance video of Parker using SNAP (food benefit) cards of 3 different people and 2 of them said, she did not have their permission to do so.
It says that amount was around $500.
She’s charged with obtaining welfare assistance by fraud and two food stamp charges.
