The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a man kidnapped and attempted to murder his girlfriend on a road trip from Illinois to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The man’s girlfriend told police they had been staying at the STRAT Hotel & Casino when he started acting paranoid, insisting that “she was assisting the government in spying.”
Around 9:10 p.m. that night, police officers conducting an unrelated traffic stop near Pecos Road and Washington Avenue saw the man SUV drive past them at a high rate of speed, with the one of the officers “observed a white female adult in the passenger seat stick her head out the window.
She mouthed the words ‘HELP ME’ as the vehicle was driving away from Officers.”
The officers reportedly chased the vehicle on US 95 against traffic until it crashed.
When it did, and officers approached the SUV, they allegedly saw the man trying to strangle the woman with one of the seatbelts, screaming “She has to die tonight.”
Police arrested 28-year-old Nathaniel Foutch-Pratt and charged him with six felonies, including kidnapping, attempted murder, and domestic violence.
