RawNews1st – Prosecutors in DuPage County say five out-of-state women face theft charges after breaking into a Kohl’s in the Woodridge area on Thursday.

Officers from the Woodridge Police Department responded to Kohl’s in the 1000 block of 75th St. around 3:50 p.m. due to reports of a theft in progress.

Officers on the scene saw a vehicle suspected of being involved in the burglary run a stop sign at 75th Street and Dunham Road.

When officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, it sped up and attempted to elude them.

Following a brief pursuit, police apprehended the suspects at a nearby gas station.

Three of the five women, according to authorities, entered the store with large bags. After about three minutes of filling the bags with clothes, the women exited the department store and entered a waiting vehicle.

Authorities added that the stolen items totaled more than $9,500.

Bond was set at $40,000 plus 10% for Brashear, Brown, and Allen, and $60,000 plus 10% for Gunby and Jones-Spencer.

All defendants are scheduled to appear in court on December 2.
