At least 33 people have been shot, five fatally, in shootings across Chicago so far this weekend, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was shot by people on a motorbike on Sunday in the Brighton Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The shooting happened at about 4:08 a.m. in the 4700 block of S. Rockwell Street, police said.
The 17-year-old was inside a vehicle when two suspects approached on a motorbike.
The teen was shot in chest. He was taken to University of Chicago hospital in critical condition.
Three people were shot at a large gathering in the Lawndale neighborhood Saturday night, Chicago police said.
A woman was shot during a gathering in Lawndale early Sunday, according to Chicago police.
The shooting happened at about 2:06 a.m. in the 800 block of S. Kilbourne Avenue, police said.
The 36-year-old woman was in the street when she heard heard gunshots coming from a gray sedan.
An 18-year-old was killed in a shooting on the city’s West Side, Chicago police said. A 17-year-old was placed into custody.
A 15-year-old boy is recovering after being shot outside a McDonald’s restaurant, Chicago police said.
It happened just after 7 p.m. Saturday near 47th and Cottage Grove in Bronzeville.
Police say the boy was arguing with another male, who pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The boy was in fair condition. No one was in custody.
