Turkey: Powerful explosion at major Kirkuk-Ceyhan oil pipeline
The country’s state pipeline operator Botas announced Tuesday it had managed to cut oil flow from the damaged Kirkuk-Ceyhan network after an explosion near Kahramanmaras.
Firefighters were deployed to battle the blaze and managed to get into under control according to a statement from Botas.
The reason for the explosion is yet to be determined – the pipeline is reportedly responsible for 110,000 barrels of oil per day.
