Iranian television reports that Amadinejad, who was once considered one of the bitterest enemies of the State of Israel, was also killed in attacks by Israel and the United States

Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, who served as Iranian president from 2005 until 2013, was killed in an Israeli-US airstrike, the Iranian Labor News Agency reported on Sunday.

The strike hit Ahmedinejad’s residence in Narnak, northeast Tehran, killing him and several bodyguards, the pro-regime outlet claimed.

Ahmadinejad served as Iran’s president for eight years, from 2005 to 2013, and during that time became the public face of Iran’s nuclear program and Tehran’s defiance of the West. He frequently threatened Israel’s destruction and made openly antisemitic remarks, gaining notoriety as a brazen Holocaust denier. He also drew widespread ridicule in the West for a series of controversial statements, including during a visit to New York for the UN General Assembly.
