A man was found shot to death this morning by a passerby on Indy’s east side.
Metro Police tells us a person called 911 after finding a man lying between two houses along Emerson Avenue, near 34th Street.
Officers arrived and found the man was dead and had been shot.
IMPD tells us they also found shell casings in the area.
Right now, police don’t know what time the man was shot, who shot them or what led up to the killing.
They tell us detectives are gathering more evidence on scene and are looking for nearby security video.
“This is not what we should be waking up to here in Indianapolis,” an IMPD spokesperson said. “People should not have to lose their life because of a disagreement or whatever the case may be that led up to gunfire ringing out and this individual losing their life.”
