For the past few months, cybercriminals are using YouTube to dupe money from users. In this scam, tricksters are offering people part-time job opportunities to like and subscribe to YouTube videos before eventually stealing their money.
As a part of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Cyber threat awareness initiative, the government has shared a video to explain how such scams are being carried out.
The video also suggests ways for people to avoid falling prey to the traps of cyber scammers.
As per the video, cybercriminals are using WhatsApp and Telegram to contact potential victims offering them part-time work from home and part-time jobs.
In such jobs, scammers are inviting users to like and subscribe to videos on YouTube.
Reports suggest that there have been multiple incidents in recent months in which victims have been duped of lakhs by scammers using these YouTube job scams.
