Police in Yonkers were investigating a police-involved shooting on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to an apartment at 52 Main St. at around 12:30 p.m. to a 911 call of shots being fired and a man waving a gun.
There were shots fired and the suspect was hit in the leg. He was rushed to a hospital and was expected to survive.
One officer suffered a severe concussion in the incident. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. The other officers who were at the scene were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
They are also seeking to get a search warrant for the apartment where the suspect was shot. He was believed to have lived there.The city sent out an alert for people to avoid the area.
